About UBE America Inc.

UBE America Inc. (UAI) is a US based trading corporation (100% subsidiary of Ube Industries, Ltd.) which is importing mainly to North American territory a variety of product lines from globally located facilities of Ube Group and also exporting raw materials for a member of the Ube Group.

Many companies struggle to design a functional and appealing food packaging. UBE NYLON polyamide resins help packaged food to stay fresh longer and prevent it from early spoilage by providing mechanical resistance, gas barrier and transparency to the packaging, so people can enjoy their favorite food miles away from home.

UBE Nylon used in performance packaging extends shelf-life, reduces material waste and ensures safe transport and storage. It is your sustainable solution for the packaging of perishables such as meats and cheeses.

Sustainable Solution Description

ASSOCIATION OF PLASTICS RECYCLERS (APR) ACKNOWLEDGES RECYCLABILITY OF PE-BASED FILM WITH UBE’S PA6/66 BASED ON CRITICAL GUIDANCE RECOGNITION February 13th, 2023 UBE Corporation Europe S.A.U. announced today it has received Critical Guidance Recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR). UBE’s innovation is a PE-based multilayer film with enhanced mechanical and barrier properties conferred by a PA6/66 inner layer and the presence of PE-based tie layers grafted with maleic anhydride (MAH). UBE’s innovation has been recognized as meeting or exceeding the most strict APR PE-CG-01 Critical Guidance Protocol for PE Film and Flexible Packaging criteria. The APR recognition is based on the technical recyclability of the film innovation, in the polyethylene film recycling stream. “APR thanks UBE for voluntarily submitting this film structure for Recognition. The impact of these protocols is beneficial to world-wide recycling efforts. Meeting the Critical Guidance Document is a truly significant step in demonstrating overall recyclability of your film innovation” wrote APR President Steve Alexander in a letter to UBE highlighting the acknowledgment dated January 17th. Meeting the APR’s Critical Guidance Document is an additional evidence and a truly significant step in demonstrating the good recyclability of coextruded PE films containing PA 6/66 by mechanical recycling. For more information on innovation and details on Critical Guidance Recognition, email uce-circularity@ube.com or contact an UBE representative.
