Formost Fuji has introduced a system for case-ready ground meat that meets this demand as well as pays for itself over a short period of time. This system has been able to eliminate greater than 50% of packaging materials, such as foam, plastic, metal clips, and/or cardboard trays which creates a smaller package that weighs less and takes up less room during transport and on store shelves. The full system has a smaller footprint than current ground meat packaging systems reducing floor space needed by nearly 50%. The current package with a tray requires three machines for packaging, whereas the trayless package only requires one. With the reduction of equipment, comes savings on energy, valuable floor space, parts, and labor for maintenance. The Formost Fuji wrapper also offers advantages for shipping, storage, and valuable shelf space. The trayless package uses 50% less space on a truck, thus providing a 100% increase in shipping capabilities, eliminating one truck for every two that is currently used for shipping ground beef.
